IRS and ACA-related letters. By June 30 each year, the IRS is required to notify taxpayers who file an income tax return and aren’t enrolled in minimum essential health coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). According to a Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) audit, the IRS didn’t issue the required notification letters for tax year 2014. Approximately 3.3 million taxpayers didn’t receive proper notification. Between Nov. 2016 and Jan. 2017, more than 7 million people received letters. Read the full report here: http://bit.ly/2vfLdbo
